110 adults adolescents (ages 20 – 85 years of age): 47 healthy controls, 43 Parkinson patients, and 20 chronic headache patients.
Forward-backward translation from the English version by 5 plus 2 bilingually fluent volunteers as well as control of the convergence of the translated versions by two additional specialists in medicine and psychology..
Cronbach’s alpha = .68 (healthy controls 0.60, Parkinson patients 0.70, chronic headache patients 0.76)
Test-retest reliability r > .70
Bland-Altman analysis gave test-retest bias -0.73.
Factor Analysis
Exploratory (principal component analysis, Promax rotation) and confirmatory factor analyses performed for a one-factor model, the original three-factor model (Patton et al. 1995) and a two-factor model showed fit indices compliant with best fit for the two-factor model (moderate fit). The two factors are referred to as the cognitive impulsivity factor and the behavioural impulsivity factor. Items 2, 5, 10, 14, 22 and 25 belong to both subscales. Item 3 and 4 belong to neither, but should be included in the total score.
Items are scored on a 4-point scale:
Rarely/Never = 1
Occasionally = 2
Often = 3
Almost Always/Always = 4
