International Society for Research on Impulsivity
The International Society for Research on Impulsivity (InSRI) held its 2019 Annual Meeting on Wednesday May 15th, 2019, as a one‐day satellite symposium to the Society of Biological Psychiatry at The Hilton Chicago, Chicago, IL.
The meeting theme was “The Darkside of Impulsivity” and focused on: Highlighting preclinical and human research that examines features of impulsivity as they relate to disease progression, whether that be continued substance use disorders or chronic psychiatric/neurological illnesses. Also included was impulsivity in the context of RDoC for psychiatric/substance use disorders and as a transdiagnostic feature.
The objectives of the meeting were:
- To bring together scientists from multiple disciplines (preclinical and clinical neuroscience, psychiatry,psychology, and computational modeling) working in the area of impulsivity, risky decision making andaddictions to promote interdisciplinary dialog.
- To involve trainees and junior faculty in the meeting and encourage their future participation in research on impulsivity, risky decision making and addictions
